Privacy Policy

MiseKit is run by Serhii Suhal in Canada. It has two parts: the website misekit.com, with free calculators, guides and templates that need no account, and the MiseKit app, where kitchens sign in to keep yield tests, recipes and a waste log. This policy explains what each part collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. The person responsible for it can be reached at support@misekit.com.

1. The website

• The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us and are not stored. Templates are created in your browser or downloaded as ordinary files.
• The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising trackers or third-party tracking scripts.
• "Save this test in MiseKit" on a calculator carries the test to the app inside the link itself. Nothing is stored until you save it in the app.
• Like any web host, our host processes the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time.

2. What the app collects

• Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, your password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form), your language and your email preferences.
• Your kitchen: its name, locations, currency and units, and what you enter: items and prices, suppliers, yield tests, recipes, waste entries, notes and photos.
• Your team: the email addresses and roles of people you invite, and who logged each test or waste entry.
• Billing: your plan, how many locations you pay for, and the identifiers of your customer and subscription at Stripe. Card and payment details go to Link and Stripe, never to us.
• Security: the IP address of sign-in, sign-up and password-reset attempts, kept as a counter to stop repeated guessing, and the server logs our host keeps to run and protect the app.

3. How we use it

• To run the app for you: show your data, calculate costs, yields and losses, and let your team work in it.
• To send you email the app needs to send: account and password emails, team invitations, billing notices and, on Pro, the Monday loss email, which you can turn off in Settings.
• To keep the app and your account secure, and to answer you when you write to us.
• To understand, in counts across all kitchens, whether people sign up, use the app and pay, so we know what to improve.

We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not send marketing email without your consent.

4. Cookies in the app

The app sets a cookie that keeps you signed in and one that remembers your language. It uses no analytics or advertising cookies.

5. Who processes data for us

We use these providers, each only for its part of running MiseKit:

• Railway hosts the app and its database.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Cloudflare runs our domain's DNS and stores photos you attach to waste entries.
• Resend delivers the app's emails.
• Link and Stripe take payments for Pro. Link is the merchant of record and handles payment data under Link's privacy policy.

These providers store and process data in the United States and other countries, so your information may be handled outside Canada and be subject to the laws there.

6. How long we keep it

• Your account and kitchen data are kept while your account is open, including while it is on the Free plan.
• When you ask us to close your account, we delete your account and your kitchen's data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as billing records.
• When an owner takes someone off a team, that person can no longer sign in. The tests and waste entries they logged stay in the kitchen's records, with the email they used at the time.

7. Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information in the app. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and data, and you can withdraw consent to anything that needs it. Write to support@misekit.com; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the privacy authority where you live.

8. Security

Connections to the website and the app are encrypted, passwords are stored only as hashes, every kitchen sees only its own data, and cooks never see costs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever puts your information at real risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. Children

MiseKit is meant for adults who work in food service and is not directed at children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this policy and the date at the top before the change takes effect, and email account holders about changes that matter to them.
